This year, our school is taking part in the Council of Europe education campaign “Free to speak, Safe to learn” Democratic schools for all with the project “From human rights to active citizenship” which was implemented with the students of Grade E in the English class from October to December 2018.

The project aimed to promote democratic values and to cultivate active citizenship, familirising children with terms and definitions involved in human rights education, and with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its Articles.

At the end of the programme, the students celebrated Human Rights Day with a skit presented to the rest of the school. In the skit, the students acted out various Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights informing their classmates about the content of the Declaration and also about their determination to respect and protect human rights.
