From the 28th January to the 2nd February, our teachers Helen Ordoulidou and Myrto Nerantzi travelled to Florence to attend the international seminar “European Project Planning”, which was organised by the educational institution Pixel.

The mobility aimed at the acquisition of skills concerning European Programmes in the fields of education, culture, research and innovation, the development of effective project ideas and their funding opportunities, methods and techniques for planning projects, the filling in of the Application Form, the selections of appropriate partners in a project and the planning of its financial aspects. Pixel and our trainer Andrea Peraldo met the objectives of the mobility as described in our project, as well as our teachers’ professional needs, providing useful information and sharing their expertise in planning and managing a European project.

Equally important was the networking with individuals and institutions across Europe with a view to a future partnership. Our teachers had the opportunity to meet colleagues from Belgium, Holland, Spain, Germany, Croatia and Romania, and to collaborate in developing a project idea and committing a project proposal. The suggested project proposals were so interesting and indicative of the good working relationship in the international groups that the co-participants decided to discuss further the proposals in their institutions with a view to future partnerships in an Erasmus+ KA2 project.

Last but not least, our teachers admired the sights and monuments of Florence, and learnt about its history and cultural heritage. Thanks to their participation in the Erasmus+ project, they gained insight into the residents’ way of life, but also improved their communication skills in the Italian language.
