On Tuesday, 6th February, teachers of our school attended an event celebrating Safer Internet Day – a landmark day of action that aims to promote the safe use of digital technology among children and young people around the world. The event was organised by the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Central Macedonia in NOESIS, the Science Centre and Technology Museum of Thessaloniki.

The meeting aimed to showcase the voluntary interregional thematic network “Safety on the Internet”, in which our school participates, and to present the suggestions of experts working in the Cyber Crimes Unit of the Greek Police. Among the most interesting contributions for celebrating Safer Internet Day were the presentations of programmes on Internet Safety that were implemented in schools during the last year. The presentations were made by the students themselves, in person or by teleconferencing. The students amazed everyone with their creativity and multilateral approach of the subject “Safety on the Internet”, as well as with their great enthusiasm to publicly present the projects they took part in, and the materials they produced as part of these projects.
